Beyond MDG 6: HIV and Chronic NCDs
Integrating Health Systems Toward Universal Health Coverage
Sunday, July 22, 2012
11:15 - 13:15
Session Room 2

The fight against AIDS brought a revolution to health care in many countries in the developing world.
Now those AIDS services are going through a second revolution: the expansion to treat other chronic diseases, such as diabetes, hypertension, and cancer.
But what is going to propel this revolution forward? What are the challenges and where is it working today?
Join our expert panel to hear cutting-edge experiences across Africa, Asia, and Latin America, and a peek into the future of the care of chronic non-communicable diseases.
Panelists will also discuss how we can design cost-efficient integrated health systems toward achievement of universal health coverage in low and middle income countries affected by both AIDS and chronic NCDs.
Moderator:
John Donnelly, global health journalist
Panelists:
Dr. Jonathan D. Quick, Management Sciences for Health (MSH)
