HOW TO RETRIEVE THE CONFERENCE ABSTRACTS
GetWeb provides access to the World Wide Web through simple exchange of
e-mail messages. With GetWeb, you can download information from World Wide
Web pages, follow links from one Web page to the next, access Gopher and
FTP sites, and conduct Web searches. Each conference session is a separate
Web page.
HOW TO RETRIEVE A SINGLE WEB PAGE
1. Compose a new message to: getweb@usa.healthnet.org
2. Leave the subject line blank. In the body of the message, type the
command GET followed by the URL (that is, the address) of the Web page
you want to retrieve.
For example, if you want the first abstract listed above, "The Role of
People Living with HIV/AIDS in AIDS Prevention: The HOPE AIDS Program
Experience, Cote d'Ivoire" find the reference number which follows the
title, in this case, [1]. Then find the corresponding URL next to the
reference number above. Your message would then look like the following:
Subject:
GET http://www.healthnet.org/programs/procaare/conferences/botabs01.html
3. Now send the message.
When GetWeb receives your message, the GetWeb server retrieves the
requested abstract from the Web, formats it as plain text, and sends it to
you as an e-mail message.
If you wish to receive more than one abstract at a time, you can include
several URLs in the same message by repeating the GET command followed by
the next URL on a separate line. Remember to leave an empty line between
the commands.
