Course on 'Methods and Techniques of Project Management'

German Foundation for International Development (DSE) in co-operation with
the Zimbabwe Institute of Public Administration and Management (ZIPAM)

The four week 'post-experience' course is especially designed for managers
and managerial staff of planning agencies and non-governmental
organisations responsible for the conceptualisation, planning,
implementation, and evaluation of development programmes.

The course is open to all persons concerned with the planning and
implementation of development projects. Applicants will normally be
expected to have a university degree or equivalent and they should have
several years of experience in project management.

The course makes available updated principles, methods and techniques for
the effective performance of the main project management functions. It
follows the concept of an overall integrated Project Cycle Management (PCM).

It will be structured in the following sections:
- Conceptualisation and Appraisal of Projects
- Objectives-oriented Planning of Project Measures
- Steering of Project Implementation
- Communication and Facilitation Techniques

Deadline for application is 4 April, 1997 (!)

DSE cannot offer any scholarship for attending this course. Applicants
should seek financial support from their respective development organisation.
