Gender in Health and Development Course

AMREF is pleased to announce that Gender in Health and Develop-
ment course will take place from 27th September to 1st October
2004 at the AMREF International Training Centre in Nairobi,
Kenya.
Target Group
The 5-days course is designed for senior and middle management
level officers in government ministries and development agencies
responsible for health programmes, projects and activities.
Workshop Objectives
The objectives of the Gender and Health course are to:
1. Strengthen the overall capacity of the participants in gender
analysis.
2. Equip the participants with skills and techniques for gender
mainstreaming.
3. Appreciate the importance of mainstreaming gender in their
programmes, projects and activities.

* Gender and health rights
* Tools of gender analysis
* Gender mainstreaming
* Monitoring and evaluating gender mainstreaming
An AMREF certificate of attendance will be issued at the end of
the course stipulating the topics covered.
AMREF is offering a few scholarships for tuition fees amounting
to US$ 240 on first come first served basis. For those who will
not qualify for the scholarship the course fee is US$ 240 per
person. This cost covers tuition, lunch, field visits, morning
and afternoon tea with snacks and all stationery and handouts
and does not include accommodation. Please write to the under-
