Ghana lost 12,365 Health Professionals 1993-2002 (16)
-----------------------------------------------------
Dear Colleagues:
This is a very enlightening finding and brings into focus issues
that Africans have to deal with on a long-term basis as they try
to influence the future well being of the continent.
My question is, has anyone studied or thought of these health
professionals sending money back home to educate relatives /
friends who otherwise could have not had the opportunity for
education? I know of many Ethiopians, for example, who are
training "replacements" for "lost" resources in the west. Of
course, whether or not those "replacements" stay in Africa is
another question altogether.
Thanks.
