hi bill
> i think you forgot bar coding....;>)
Mike,
Thanks for the tip on bar coding. We have considered that
option....
mmhh....shall i say something now or keep quiet?.....the point with
*bar coding* was rather meant as a little hint that someone might be
overdoing something....
i appreciate, that you tried hard to think of *everything*
recordable.....however, in my opinion, a book with 50-60 pages lost touch
with reality completely....at least in our part of the world.
as an example, in zimbabwe, we already have a maternal record booklet with
11 pages....most of the space remains empty....(for example under pelvic
and vaginal assessment, there are 27 items to be filled in...and you
usually just find one word across like *adequate* or so)....if a certain
page is filled in, then only because it replaced a previously used loose
sheet in the hospital (record of labour for example).....this shows to me
the discrepancy between theoretically appreciated information and day-to-
day routine in a busy place.....
however, your proposed book appears to me like more work than
usual.....this is not a welcome feature.....same with the costs
involved.......
i would say: keep it short and to the point...less is sometimes more....
regards, mike
