Insecticide-treated Nets (ITNs)
-------------------------------
Further to the messages regarding "Treated bednet material" and the
request for information, we would like to introduce ourselves. PATH
Canada is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation whose goal is
to improve health, especially the health of women and children, in
developing regions of the world. One of our main areas of activities
is malaria control.
One of the roles of the newly created "Net Gain for Africa Task
Force", housed at PATH Canada, is to collect, sort and distribute
information on insecticide-treated net (ITNs) projects as part of
malaria control.
PATH Canada collaborated with AHRTAG to produce a Directory of nets,
netting and insecticide suppliers for sub-Saharan Africa. The
introduction of the Directory also contains valuable, basic
information regarding the use of ITNs. A copy of the Directory can be
found on our website. We are also happy to mail you a copy.
At PATH, Catherine Reed is responsible for co-ordinating Net Gain
activities, and Brijitte Reppen is responsible for much of the
communication.
