Net Mark research reports on Insecticide Treated Materials
----------------------------------------------------------
Net Mark has completed a series of practical studies designed to pro-
vide information for both the public and private sector involved in
promoting Insecticide Treated Materials (ITMs). These studies are now
available on the web:
http://www.netmarkafrica.org
The studies that are available are:
Qualitative Research with consumers and traders, including product
observations and feedback, in each of the following countries: - Ni-
geria - Zambia - Uganda - Senegal (consumer information only)
Qualitative Research: Set Of Executive Summaries (an executive sum-
mary is also included in each of the full reports listed above).
Baseline Surveys of mosquito/malaria knowledge and perceptions of
nets and ITMs; net coverage, net treatment, and use by vulnerable
groups; use and perceptions of other mosquito control products; and
product preferences in each of the following countries: - Nigeria -
Zambia - Uganda - Senegal (available in English and in French) - Mo-
zambique
Baseline Surveys: Set Of Executive Summaries (an exec summary is also
included in each of the full baseline survey reports listed above).
Cross-National Summary Of Findings comparing survey findings across
the five countries - This is being finalized now and should be up on
the web soon.
These studies concentrate on the "demand side." Our partners in the
Malaria Consortium are working on studying the supply side and look-
ing at policy implications of the various approaches to supplying
ITMs.
If you have trouble accessing the web or would like a bound copy of
any of these studies, please contact Chad Blain:
mailto:cblain@aed.org.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments about
the research.
