PLANNING FOR HIV/AIDS: A POLICY RESEARCH WORKSHOP
22 May - 16 June, 2000 (UK workshop)
Course Directors: Prof Alan Whiteside and Prof Tony Barnett.
These international workshops address the issues of developing imagi-
native and targeted prevention activities, going beyond the conven-
tional message of STI treatment, behavior change and condom use and
look at what is driving the epidemic. They look at planning for the
medium to long-term social and economic impact of the disease and its
associated increases in morbidity and mortality. Workshops in 2000
are being held in UK (with an optional advanced data modelling compo-
nent), Philippines, South Africa and Malaysia.
