Evidence and Programme Implications for South Asia

Mumbai, India

The Indian Society for the Study of Reproduction and Fertility (ISSRF),
the Institute for Research in Reproduction, and the UNDP/UNFPA/WHO/
World Bank Special Programme of Research, Development and Research
Training in Human Reproduction (Department of Reproductive Health and
Research, WHO, Geneva) will be organizing an International Conference
on Adolescent Reproductive Health: Evidence and Programme Implications
for South Asia. The meeting is expected to be supported by a number of
national and international organizations, including United Nations
agencies, working in the area of reproductive health.

The Scientific Programme will cover a broad spectrum of topics reflect-
ing the wide-ranging needs and perspectives of adolescents, with a view
to identify strategies for the design and implementation of services
and programmes that respond to the needs of young people in the area of
sexual and reproductive health.

The Conference will provide an international forum for policy-makers,
programme managers, researchers and others with an interest in the re-
productive health and well-being of young people to share their experi-
ences and discuss the interventions and strategies to better meet the
sexual and reproductive health needs of adolescents.

On behalf of the organizers of the meeting, it is my privilege to in-
vite you to participate in the Conference. Further details about the
Scientific Programme will be announced shortly. In the mean time, if

sia Presentations, Group Discussion and Poster Presentations.
