Event Details:
This is a 4-week course intensive course focused on building sound
interventions for Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH)
designed to strengthen institutional capacity to effectively monitor
programme operations and evaluate performance.
The nuts and bolts of programme planning is fused with adolescent-
centred SRH concerns through an array of provocative and interactive
session. HIV/AIDS interventions are situated within the context of
healthy sexuality and appropriate technology. Learning is facilitated
through lectures, case studies, group problem solving and individual-
ised attention. Emphasis is placed on participatory learning so in-
structors draw on the experiences of participants and their pro-
grammes.
The course will cover both key programmatic and management issues in-
volved in the delivery of effective ASRH programme including:
* designing ASRH programmes appropriate to local needs & resources,
* developing management structures supportive of quality ASRH ser-
vices,
* integrating activities for promoting gender equity, and
* greater male involvement in protective SRH behaviours.
This intensive course involves 32 hours of classroom contact per
week. Participants graduate with a completed programme plan for their
adolescent programme.
