The Global Health Bureau Office of Health, Infectious Diseases and Nutrition's Quality Assurance Project is pleased to sponsor a presentation by Noreen Mucha, M.P.A., on Thursday, February 1, 4-5pm on the HIV and AIDS Tools and Resources for Programme Managers in Tanzania CD-ROM which she developed in partnership with the Tanzania Commission for HIV/AIDS (TACAIDS).

The toolkit is a comprehensive collection of HIV/AIDS resource materials and tools from government, NGOs, research organizations and implementing agencies operating in Tanzania, designed to be a one-stop shop of existing, validated materials for HIV/AIDS program implementers. The toolkit contains over 390 technical and program resources and tools, including national guidelines and manuals, training resources, and behavior change communication materials.

Noreen will make a brief presentation explaining how this important HIV/AIDS program resource was developed and discuss its recent launch in Tanzania at the National Multi-Sectoral AIDS Conference and the toolkit's applicability to other country programs. Copies of the toolkit will be distributed.

About the CD-ROM:

The CD-ROM is a companion tool supporting the National HIV and AIDS Communication and Advocacy Strategy. It includes a collection of over 390 tools and resources including HIV and AIDS technical and programme tools (national guidelines, clinical guidelines, standard operating procedures, job aides, training resources, logistics, monitoring and evaluation) appropriate for Tanzania in Swahili and
English.

Purpose of the CD-ROM:

The purpose of this CD is to contribute to a multi-sectoral, coordinated response to HIV and AIDS by providing an electronic resource to help build the capacity of programme planners, managers, and implementers in Tanzania by making existing technical and programme resources more widely available and accessible.

Targeted Audience:

-HIV and AIDS programme managers, planners and implementers in government, NGOs, CBOs, and FBOs.

Objectives:

-To support the Tanzania National HIV and AIDS Communication and Advocacy Strategy
-To provide a �One Stop Shop� resource of HIV and AIDS programme management and technical tools
-To increase knowledge sharing and dissemination of information amoung HIV and AIDS stakeholders in Tanzania
-To contribute to improving technical and programme management skills related to HIV and AIDS
