Dear HIV Prevention Leader,

The 2005 National HIV Prevention Conference (NHPC) staff is
looking for individuals to volunteer for the conference. This
conference is unique in its sole concentration on the ever-
important science of HIV prevention and its success depends on
hundreds of individuals working together. Many local volunteers
have contributed their time and energy towards the last three
conferences, and the 2005 Conference Staff is seeking energetic
volunteers to help make this conference exciting and successful.

The fourth National HIV Prevention Conference will be held at
the Hyatt Regency Hotel on Sunday, June 12 through Wednesday,
June 15, 2005 in Atlanta, Georgia.

A benefit to volunteering includes FREE registration fees for
all four days of the conference. Volunteers will have the oppor-
tunity to attend all conference functions that are scheduled at
any time other than their volunteer shift/shifts.

Was your abstract accepted but you or your agency does not have
the funds for you to attend the conference??? Then VOLUNTEER!!!!

The majority of volunteers will be needed to monitor one of over
130 concurrent sessions held throughout the four-day conference.
Other volunteers will be needed to monitor plenary sessions, Ex-
hibit/Poster Halls, the CBO/NGO Village, or special lounges. An
orientation will be provided to all volunteers in order to ex-
plain responsibilities as well as answer all questions. No spe-
cific qualifications are necessary. The Conference Staff is
looking for volunteers that are dependable, mature, and moti-
vated.

Volunteers should be prepared to arrive at least 45 minutes
prior to the time slot of the volunteer duty they have been as-
signed. A volunteer can work multiple shifts and/or days and it
is preferred that each volunteer works at least two shifts.

If you are interested in volunteering and need additional infor-
mation, please feel free to contact Nickie Bazell at +1-202-
884-8149 or mailto:nbazell@aed.org
