Malawi rejects anti-AIDS loan (13)
----------------------------------

My Dear Kimberly,

Like you 'writely' said on the loan for HIV/AIDS thing, I see sense
in it. But I believe the reasons for accepting or rejecting should be
based on the conditions that back up the loans.

If the borrowers will be made to pay through their noses as in you
borrow US$ 2 Billion today and in five years they are telling you to
pay us 20 Billion or more, it will be the wisest thing to do.

After all so many loans come with strange strangulating conditions
like telling what to do with the money where to spend it, who to
spend it on and when to spend it. Then when it is not yielding the
right result, they will bring Professors of Economics, Business Af-
fairs and all the frightening terms to explain why you need more
loans to up keep the previous one you took.

On a more personal note, what has the Malawians got at their disposal
to combat the plague in a more realistic and meaning full way?

Can they do it alone looking inwards?

What can Africans do without the hidden agenda stuff of the west?

Can the Religious, Cultural and Social Set ups join in their strug-
gle?

I believe, refusing the loan is not the cure. Finding the right al-
ternative is the only antidote. I pray the Almighty will help save us
from the plights that want to eliminate the Human race.
