RFI: HIV/AIDS Curricula
-----------------------
Dear List Members:
I am writing on behalf of IvoirEspoir, a US-based non-profit started
by immigrants from Cote d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast). The organization
seeks to make HIV/AIDS education and services more available to indi-
gent people there. I would like to know where to find any already ex-
isting texts, curricula, or curriculum ideas that could be used or
adapted for the following purposes in Cote d'Ivoire.
* Training health care workers about the basic medical facts of
HIV/AIDS prevention (including universal precautions) and treatment
* Educating community members about the same matters
* Educating both groups about the mental health and other psychoso-
cial aspects of HIV/AIDS
It would be great if any of you could point me to culturally appro-
priate materials available on the Internet. While these training ma-
terials are intended for Francophone audiences, English as well as
French materials are fine for now. (We can always translate them
later. Note: I myself am not proficient in French, but have access to
people who are.)
Please respond to <MaryKDerr@aol.com>
Many thanks for any help you can offer!
All best,
Mary Krane Derr, LCSW
