[afro-nets] Roll Back Malaria failure

Roll Back Malaria failure
-------------------------

It should come as no surprise that the RBM program is a dismal
failure. There is no location on earth that has ever controlled
malaria without controlling the mosquito population.

To those of you who doubt this statement, please study the his-
tories of mosquitoes and malaria in places like central Califor-
nia, southern Florida, Darwin Australia and other locations too
numerous to mention.

As long as the environmental wackos insist on bednets and medi-
cation after the disease is contracted, there will continue to
be a serious malaria problem in the places that still have it
today. If the solutions being promoted by RBM are supposed to
work so well, why are they not being used in the above mentioned
locations?

Roll Back Malaria failure (2)
-----------------------------

To the point indeed! It is to do with overall improvement in en-
vironment both macro and micro. We see how much medicalized a
public health intervention can be for profit! And some of the
problems is man made as part of the development projects by
World Bank and other lenders such as embankment in Bangladesh,
India, Mekong basin etc.
