SENIOR LECTURER/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR
3 year contract position
The School of Public Health, a dynamic, vibrant and growing part of the University of the Witwatersrand seeks to appoint a person with excellent skills in public health to join its team. The person will be responsible for curriculum development, teaching and research in the School.
Requirements:
• Board knowledge of public health issues facing Africa.
• A minimum of a master€™s degree in a public health related field, PhD preferable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
• Evidence of research experience and output, including publishing in peer reviewed journals.
• Previous teaching experience in an academic public health environment including supervising post graduate students an advantage.
• Desire to work in areas of expertise of the School (health systems, epidemiology, population health, equity in health and health care) €“ see http://web.wits.ac.za/Academic/Health/PublicHealth/
• Experience in working with NGOs/Universities, raising money from local and international health agencies and donors and a track record of writing donor reports essential.
