tb-rights: E-mail discussion list
---------------------------------
tb-rights is a new e-mail discussion list that will run for one month
from Monday, February 15th, 1999. tb-rights is the virtual conference
that will run in parallel with the tb.net conference on Human Rights
and TB, to be held in Kathmandu, Nepal from 24-26 February, 1999.
The purpose of tb-rights is to discuss matters relating to TB and Human
Rights. These can include discussion questions, reports, case studies,
stories, views, requests for information etc.
We will also post conference questions on topics relating to TB and Hu-
man Rights to the list, one day before they are discussed here in Kath-
mandu. This gives you the opportunity to contribute directly to the
discussions, even if you can't join us here in Nepal!
Topics to be discussed include:
* Is Directly Observed Treatment a way of policing patients?
* Should all TB patients be tested for HIV?
* If is fair for countries to deprive people of treatment for multi-
drug resistant TB?
* TB and prisoners
* TB and refugees
Some of your contributions (the relevant ones!!) will also be included
in the conference report.
