(UK) Government urges under-16s to experiment with oral sex (3)

I am utterly shocked at this startlingly irresponsible approach to
"combating" teenage pregnancy. It's amazing that the government of
the United Kingdom would endorse such a course, rather than adapting
successful strategies that have been employed elsewhere. This is not
a "pioneering" approach, it is anachronistic. In addition to numerous
negative social, emotional, and psychological effects, the increased
risk of sexually transmitted infections that is sure to accompany
this scheme must, as stated by Mr. Whalen in the article, be empha-
sized as a real threat. Sexual intercourse is one of the most intense
expressions of intimacy between two responsible individuals who love
each other, not a child's science experiment.
