E-drug: ADRs and cox 2 inhibitors (cont)
---------------------------------------------
Dear Jody
I refer to the Canadian Adverse Drug Reaction Newsletter Vol 10
Number 2 April 2000. The newsletter lists 6 cases of fatalities
linked to celecoxib (including subarachnoid hemorrhage, intracranial
hemorrhage). This should obviously be looked at in proportion to the
huge number of patients who have taken these new NSAIDs. Like all
drugs, the COX-2 inhibitors will have untoward effects, although
fatal cases of bleeding are of concern.
Kind regards
Bradley Parsons (B.Pharm)
