E-DRUG: Antibiotic use in South Asia
--------------------------------
[It could be useful to ask how many prescribers adhere to peer-reviewed prescribing guidelines such as Therapeutic Guidelines: Antibiotic <http://www.tg.org.au/?sectionid=41> ; or National Antibiotic Guidelines. Moderator]
Hello everyone,
I am trying to put together some data on the use of antibiotics and other anti-infectives in various countries of South Asia. This will eventually go into a feature article for Business India magazine.
Mainly, I am interested in the prescribing habits of doctors belonging to different specialties -- in the pre-operative work up, for example. Also what is the common practice among family physicians regarding antibiotic use?
How often and how severe do physicians encounter the problem of drug resistance? What do they do about it?
Thanks and regards
