E-DRUG: use of new antibiotics in Indian setting? (2)
-----------------------------------------------------
Dear sir,
This is in response to Sanjay Saluja's letter.
I feel the first sentence -" In India every antibiotic has been subject to
misuse and abuse" is a very bold statement and definitely does not apply to
all clinical facility stations of India. It is very sad to have a
generalised comment.
I think sensitivity and resistance pattern to be studied locally is
imperative, and local guidelines and evidence based decisions is the only
answer...also..structured training by seniors needs to be emphasised.
Any way.. please refer to:
- j.antimicrob chemother - 1990 mar 25-3 423-33
- jpn jantibiot 1993 aug 46-8 697-705
- eur.j.clin.micro inf dis 1996 aug 15-8 625-34
- j.antimicro chemo 1993 jul 32-1 141-52
- clin ther 1987-10-1 52-56
this is mainly with cephalosporin--perazone ... also older ones..
In any case local guidelines are most welcome..
