E-DRUG: Australia's NMS 2016: Asia-Pacific Quality Use of Medicines Scholarship

The 2016 National Medicines Symposium (NMS 2016) - hosted by NPS MedicineWise in Australia - brings together health professionals, consumers, policy makers, academics, the pharmaceutical industry, government, health organisations, medical writers and other experts to discuss and debate the current and future state of quality use of medicines.

Quality use of medicines, or rational drug use, is one of the central objectives of Australia's National Medicines Policy. It is described as selecting management options wisely, choosing suitable medicines if a medicine is considered necessary and using medicines safely and effectively.

WHAT IS THE NMS 2016 ASIA-PACIFIC QUM SCHOLARSHIP?
The scholarship provides an opportunity for a health academic, health worker or policy maker from the Asia-Pacific region with an interest in quality use of medicines or rational drug use to attend NMS 2016.
The scholarship will go towards complementary registration to NMS 2016 (18-20 May 2016) as well as cover travel, accommodation and expenses (up to $5000 AUD). The winner will be notified by 7 March 2016.
ELIGIBILITY
NPS MedicineWise will accept applications from people in the Asia-Pacific region who are working in a relevant quality use of medicines field or role. Applicants should be prepared to provide a 10-minute oral presentation of their work as part of a concurrent session at NMS 2016.
Applicants must meet all of the general eligibility requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications
- Strong written and spoken English language skills
- At least four years work experience
- Citizen of and residing in an eligible country (see list below)
