E-DRUG: Better drug & antibiotic use associated with more policy implementation (2)

Dear all,
Congrats to Kathy and David on this landmark publication. For those of us
working in LMIC it underscores the need to push for implementation of these
policies. It is a message to all the funding agencies that they need to
fund the collection of data and maintenance of the kind of database that
Kathy has been single-handedly maintaining all these years. Funding
agencies do not find it attractive enough to provide grants to cover this
kind of work - which may or may not come out with "positive" findings. This
paper very clearly shows that they need to start thinking on these lines.
Maintenance of this database should come under the normative functions of
WHO essential medicines programme and be continually funded.
