E-drug: Building capacity in Pharmaco-Economics
The South African Department of National Health is currently
exploring the field of evidence-based pharmacoeconomics, and is
drawing up a capacity building plan for South Africa.
We would be interested to hear from other countries'
experiences how they developed their pharmaco-economics.
Was it left to the private sector (industry, universities) or was
there an active role of government?
We would also like to identify South African institutions or
individuals currently envolved in pharmaco-economics or health
economics with an interest to develop the pharmaceutical
sub-specialty.
Reactions or suggestions can be sent to me: we will call a meeting of
interested South African parties in the near future.
Kindly contact me as soon as possible.
