CENTRE FOR HEALTH POLICY, UNIVERSITY OF THE WITWATERSRAND

The Centre consists of a multidisciplinary team doing independent health
policy research and development in South and Southern Africa.

The Centre for Health Policy is seeking to recruit a senior researcher to
undertake work in the areas of pharmaceuticals policy and pharmaco-economics.

QUALIFICATIONS : Masters or doctoral degree in economics, public health or
pharmacy and/or significant private or public sector experience. Candidates
should be experienced researchers, with an ability to initiate and run their
own projects.

DUTIES : To take charge of a new project focussed on developing a
portfolio of research in pharmaceuticals policy and pharmaco-economics. The
successful candidate would be expected to build the research unit over time
by raising grant related funds, and recruiting additional researchers. They
would also be expected to do a small amount of teaching. The appointee
will be supported by strong health economics and health systems research
units.

SALARIES : Negotiable according to University scales.
