E-DRUG: Codeine Linctus (2)

Dear Friends,
In repsonse to Asgedom's question about codein:
Codein does not exist in the Netherlands (anymore) in liquid preparations.
Dextromethorphan or noscapin syrup is dispensed instead for OTC purposes.
Tablets below 20 mgm are POM (prescription only), but not controlled.
Tablets in strength of 20 mgm and over are controlled drug and POM.
If a similar preparation as Lictus would be offered for registration,
my feeling is that they probably would only register it if the codein
was replaced by either a much lower amount or by a non-narcotic drug /
cough suppressant.
