[e-drug] Comparative drug prices (con'd)

E-drug: Comparative drug prices (con'd)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Albert,

Hallo there. Kindly advise what you look for in this sort of
comparators. What are your terms of reference for creating such a
list. Whenever I look at such comparisnons, I always ask myself if
the comparison between countries, regions, etc, is actually fair,
reasonable. For example, do you consider purchasing parity; the
state of a country's economy, etc? I ask this because some of the
lists I've come across don't say how the list has been developed. If
we are looking at what one company is charging in two different
countries, one assumes that that company has based that pricing
on some market intelligence. If not, then that approach may be
questioned.

Would you also be checking to what extent a given government
controls its economic environment (for example, does a given
government control how much a pack of 20 Aspirins- patented-
must cost), or not?

You probably have all this background stuff under wraps and taken
care off, but I thought to ask.

Regards,

Bonnie
