[e-drug] Conflicts of Interest

E-drug: Conflicts of Interest
---------------------------------------------
Dear Colleagues,

USA TODAY, a major US newspaper, released their study of financial
ties between outside experts who serve on Food and Drug
Administration (FDA) advisory committees and the pharmaceutical
industry on September 25, 2000. These advisors make recommendations
to the FDA on the approval of new drugs. The US TODAY study can be
found on the following web pages:

www.usatoday.com/news/washdc/ncssun06.htm

www.usatoday.com/news/washdc/ncssun02.htm

We are very interested in similar studies or information about
conflicts of interest with advisors to drug regulatory authorities in
other countries and how these conflicts of interest are managed.

Best regards,

Larry
