E-drug: Cyclosporin eye drops (cont'd)
---------------------------------------------
There is a lot in the literature about ocular use of cyclosporin but
formulation details are sparse. I believe that in the USA there is an
investigational 2% ointment.
I found a potentially useful citation:
An alternative appears to be dilution of the cyclosporin injection in
artificial tears to give 1% eye drops.
Fiscella et al. Journal of Ocular Pharmacology and Therapeutics.
I haven't verified the paper myself but it may be worth looking at.
The authors confirmed chemical stability and I assume they made
them aseptically and that there were no problems with precipitation
etc.
Medline Unique ID is 96182502.
