[e-drug] Data for annual International Drug Price Indicator Guide

E-DRUG: Data for annual International Drug Price Indicator Guide
----------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Colleagues,

As you may know, MSH publishes the International Drug Price Indicator
Guide in collaboration with WHO each year. The Guide aims to make price
information more widely available in order to improve procurement of
medicines of assured quality for the lowest possible price. Comparative
price information is important for getting the best price, and this is
an essential reference for anyone involved in the procurement of
pharmaceuticals.

The Guide provides an indication of pharmaceutical prices on the
international market. It contains a spectrum of prices from
pharmaceutical suppliers and procurement agencies based on their current
price lists. The Guide also contains prices obtained from international
development organizations and government agencies.

We would like to include additional organizations' prices in the 2009
edition of the Guide because we think they will be helpful for
comparison purposes. In the past, we have included prices from
organizations such as MEDS in Kenya and the national tender results from
countries such as Namibia and Nicaragua, as well as prices from vendors
like IDA. The more prices we can include in the Guide, the more useful
the comparison is.

If you are interested in having your organization's prices included in
the 2009 edition of the Guide, please let me know. I will send you a
brief questionnaire to complete so that I have some background
information, and I need your latest tender price list. I do not require
a special format for that list and can use information in English,
French, Spanish, or Portuguese. If you have any questions, please let me
know. If you are unfamiliar with the Guide, you can view the online
version at http://erc.msh.org/priceguide.

I look forward to hearing from you and hope that we can work together to
increase the number of prices in the 2009 edition of the International
Drug Price Indicator Guide.

Best regards,
