E-DRUG: Dipyrone in Sweden

Dear colleagues,
There seems to be some confusion about what happened recently in
Sweden after the dipyrone withdrawal by Hoechst. The Dutch
authorities deny that dipyrone has been (voluntarily) removed from
the Swedish market, and the MPA (Medical Products Agency) in Uppsala,
Sweden, has released the drug again (?), and that it is now again
available under certain restrictions. The issue will be discussed by
the CPMP. Since many developing countries have now withdrawn the drug
we need some transparency about the Swedish moves. Can any of our
Scandinavian colleagues inform us?
