E-drug: Drugs from developing countries (cont'd)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Many people would agree that most drugs from developing country
comply with the highest quality standards. But, at the same time
others don't. I cannot agree with Dr Srinivas' statement that "this is
not a contention that the control systems are perfect in developing
countries. But as far as most of the reputed manufacturers are
concerned and as far as exports go, I do not think there can be a
single instance where quality is anything other than top class."

How can buyers be sure that they get good quality drugs when the
drug regulatory agencies in the producers' countries are not reliable?
Quality control tests are very expensive, especially when small
quantities of drugs are procured..

I quite agree with what Dr Srinivas says about dubious channels, but
these channels are not concerned with the quality of drugs that pass
them.
