E-DRUG: drugs with the same trade name (2)

Dear Dr Rao,
I agree with you that the brand names being similar
are rather confusing to the patient as well as the
medical fraternity. Especially in a country like ours
where in most of the drugs are given OTC there could
be wrong dispensing easily.....I could imagine a
person asking the low sodium salt and get the
psychiatric drug (the LONA case).
I guess this more so because of the registrations of
the drugs done at the state health boards (or the
state FDA's) and I wonder if the DCGI has a watch over
these issues...
