Medical and Pharmaceutical Curricula in Nepal".

The study reviewed 16 different curricula related to academic, non-
academic and on the job trainings with the objectives of finding out
the coverage on the rational prescribing and drug use.
The study has shown lack of many topics on rational prescribing/use
in different curricula. It also showed that very few curricula
contained elements of following/using treatment guidelines developed
by different departments/programmes of the government.
Similarly, the study also found differences in course contents as
well as information on pharmacological aspects of drugs.
The study was funded by USAID/USP,Washington D.C,USA.

[This study documents what has been observed in many countries. The problem
however is not just in curricula but also in textbooks and in the
appointment of faculty to teach this topic. What is the situation in other
countries? Could this study be repeated in other countries?
