[e-drug] E-DRUG: pharmacist v/s physician? (cont'd)

Dear Colleagues,
Dr Leo Offerhaus (I hope I am not mistaken)
contribution on the above subject makes interesting
reading. Infact it reminds me of the reaction of a
consultant when I started ward rounds with doctors in
my hospital. The benefits of that initiative is best
left to the patients and my peers to judge.

The issue is not about everybody reading medicine but
for some other healthcare professional to support the
work of the medic to ensure that patients are
protected and that the best possible healthcare is
provided by very competent individuals who deliver.I
can assure Dr Offerhaus that close to 95% of all
patients seen by medics need medication in one way or
the other.

Let us support each other in providing the best
possible healthcare to our patients (who should always
be our point of reference in our debates)than continue
this 30 years of not understanding each other's role
and contribution.I hope the American scenario of
medication errors does not catch up with Holland.
