Dear Murray,

I am not aware of any institutions in Africa offering such education. There
is a masters course for postgraduates in Germany at the University of Bonn.
For further information go to

Another course is offered by TOPRA in London:

Best regards
Andreas

E-DRUG: Education in regulatory sciences (8)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear E-druggers;

At the Kilimanjaro School of Pharmacy in Moshi, TZ several of us teach a curriculum of 4 postgraduate courses in 1) drug discovery and development; 2) GMP and drug regulation; 3) drug manufacturing and validation; and 4) writing/reviewing regulatory submissions. The courses are tailored for pharmaceutical professionals and members of national drug regulatory agencies. Each of these courses is two-weeks, full-time so that professionals can complete the curriculum while staying in their current positions. Four of our five main faculty have "big pharma" experience that totals over 110 years, including filings many INDs and NDAs. The US FDA taught a one-week course with us in late 2012, for which we received an FDA "Honor Award" for excellence and innovation in regulatory training. They have indicated a willingness to continue this training. In September, 2014 our next two courses will be offered, at which time we are expanding the curriculum to 10 courses with the awarding of an MS degree in Regulatory and Quality Assurance from Purdue University here in the US.

I hope that you'll find these offerings somewhat tailored to your needs for regulatory training. One of our major objectives is to "train the trainers" and transfer our curriculum to Universities in Sub-Saharan Africa to sustain and grow this effort.

Best wishes, and looking forward to your responses and thoughts on this.
