E-drug: Essential drugs in primary care (cont'd)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
The essential drug list (EDL) in Colombia is not stratified by level of
care, only by ambulatory versus hospital use, with other categories for
"special public health programs" under MOH control, such as TB,
leprosy, malaria, and HIV.
There are also drugs for specialized programs under tight control by
the MOH and HMOs, such as drugs for cancer and organ transplants.
Finally, the absolute number depends of whether one includes
vaccines, serums, IV preparations and electrolytes, contrast media,
hormones, vitamins, etc. Overall, we have about 300 products.
I would be interested in the overall survey result.
Best wishes,
