E-drug: Essential drugs in village setting
--------------------------------------------
Hello,
I am looking for documentation of essential drugs for use in the village
setting in Haiti in which visiting medical teams spend a few days treating
walk-in patients in a makeshift facility. The procedure is to
symptomatically treat. Where can I find a list that meets these
specifications? I am anxious to provide the teams with a list of drugs they
will bring to the villages-and nothing outside of the list. Surely this is
available somewhere and categorized into acceptable antibacterials,
anti-infectives, etc. Please advise!
Thank you,
Kathryn Bolles

[There are many publications prepared for community Primary Health
Care (PHC) programs giving guidelines for management of common
problems using essential drugs for different levels of the programs.
Perhaps e-druggers could suggest guidelines prepared for other
Caribbean countries that could have similar disease patterns and
treatment guidelines. BS]
