E-DRUG: Estimating the national drug needs (3)
----------------------------------------------

Dear E-Druggers

We would like to react on the message that was sent you E-DRUG recently.

The Department of medicines Policy and Standards would like to receive more details about the article that was published by WHO and that advised countries to undertake a quantification exercise every ten years.

The document "Estimating Drug Requirements, a practical manual, is on WHOs medicines website and can be down loaded:
http://www.who.int/medicinedocs/, use the search button and a list of documents will appear. Choose the document you need.

[Moderator: it is available from: http://www.who.int/medicinedocs/collect/edmweb/pdf/h2931e/h2931e.pdf ]

It is still available as a paid document in WHO e-bookshop in English, French and Spanish.

The Department of Medicines Policies and Standards encourages any country, or health institution to use the appropriate quantification method to estimate their medicine needs on a regular basis.
