This is very important. The text just adopted by the European Parliament
for an amendment to the DIRECTIVE 2001/83/EC OF THE EUROPEAN
PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 6 November 2001 on the Community
code relating to medicinal products for human use, is *exactly* the
correct solution to paragraph 6 of the Doha Declaration. Jamie

ARTICLE 1, POINT 7
Article 10, paragraph 4, subparagraph 1 a (new) (Directive 2001/83/EC)
Manufacturing shall be allowed if the medicinal product is intended for
export to a third country that has issued a compulsory licence for that
product, or where a patent is not in force and if there is a request to that
effect of the competent public health authorities of that third country.
