E-drug: Evaluation of generic drugs (cont)

In our hospital we insist for every manufacturer to provide
bioequivalence study which the generic manufacturer had used to get
the product registered in their respective country. As a pharmacist
you must put your foot down and insist on this as minimum requirement
for consideration of any product to be included in the formulary. As
regards to efficacy etc. request any consultant who applies for a
product to be included in the formulary to produce an evidence based
information towards its effectiveness and cost-effectiveness. There
are a no. of websites which can be surfed to provide you with
unbiased information.
