E-drug: Evidence based guidelines
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear E-Druggers,
Recently Hans Hogerzeil recommended the evidence based treatment
guidelines produced by SADAP. Of course it is the quality of the
evidence which is important and the classification used by the
Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network is to be recommended.
Recently the BMJ has produced a publication entitled "Clinical
Evidence - A compendium of the best available evidence of effective
health care". This book is to be updated every 6 months, a year'
subscription costs GBP 55. BMJ publishing can be contacted on
subscriptions@bmjgroup.com or you can visit their website on
www.evidence.org
The other publication which may be useful is called "Guidelines"
published by Medendum Group Publishing Ltd which is sent out three
times a year to every General Practice in the UK. It contains over 200
guidelines from reputable sources. An annual subscription for non NHS
doctors costs GBP 90 and can be made by contacting
subscriptions@medendium.demon.co.uk
I have no financial interest in each company!
