E-drug: Evidence based medicine (cont'd)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Evidence-based medicine is the process of turning clinical problems
into questions, followed by a systematic literature search, analyses,
and use of current research findings to make clinical decisions. This
process requires the integration of clinical expertise and judgment
with the best available evidence on a patient-by-patient basis.
Therefore, one needs to be trained on how to critically appraise
study results.
I wrote an article on the subject highlighting pharmacists' role in
evidence-based pharmacotherapy. The article was recently (August
supplement issue) published at the journal of the American Society
of Consultant Pharmacists. Below, the complete citation.

pharmacotherapy. Consult Pharm 2001; 16(Suppl B): 3-5.
