E-drug: Evidence based medicine (cont'd)

Dear all,

Evidence-based medicine "preaches" that clinical practice and
decision making is maximized when the best current evidence from
critically appraised research is combined with one's own previous
experiences and with patient's expectations and values brought to
the physician-patient encounter.

I wonder what Prof. Urquhart sees as viable and ethical
alternatives?
