E-drug: Experience on mobile clinics sought (cont'd)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Although mobile clinic systems are rather difficult to maintain
(logistics, motivation of health workers, etc.), I believe there is
strong experience in some West African countries. Mobile clinics
were often used in "vertical programs" (e.g immunization,
campaigns against sleeping sickness etc.). However, in addition to
their specific tasks, most of the time health teams were doing
general consultancies and IEC. May I advise the Ministry of Public
Health in Yemen to get in touch with MoH's from countries like
Niger (large nomadic populations), Mali and Burkina Faso to share
experiences. Morocco (as an arabic country) has had the same kind
of experiences in the 70's and 80's with its Family Planning
Programme.
