E-DRUG: fake artemisinins and ARVs in DR Congo (3)

WHO publishes The International Pharmacopoeia. In its 5th Volume you will
find a comprehensive set of pharmacopoeial monographs for artemisinin
derivatives, antimalarial drugs. Monographs are available both, for the
active substances as well as the finished dosage forms. The information can
be found on the web as follows:

Newly International Chemical Reference Substances (ICRS) are available for
series of artemisinin derivates. They can be ordered from the WHO
Collaborating Centre for Chemical Reference Substances:

We are at present working with manufacturers, experts and a number of
Collaborating Centres towards international specifications and International Chemical Reference Substances for the series of antiretrovirals (ARVs). First drafts have already been circulated and the specifications are being validated.
In addition screening tests for antimalarials and ARVs are underway.
