E-DRUG: Counterfeit ARVs in Africa - Alert for Regulatories Authorities

It is really high time for all regulatories
authorities in the sub sahara to watch out and may be
to begin quickly conducting post market survaillance
on ARV present in the market. I believe we are likely
to hear the same from more countries especially at
this time where a there is still discussion on best of
distributing ARVs.
I'm worried we might be getting late, while more
people are dying. Let us have emergency measures
before we have the better way of Distributing ARVs.
I'm not sure how effective are our labs are equipped
with reference standards and testing methods as the
countries differ on capacities. Countries which are
capable should see how possible can impart the science
and cheaper techniques to others urgently.
The DRC experience should be urgently investigated in
other countries as our borders and inspection at port
of entries can not answer all the questions!!!
