E-DRUG: FAQ about TB 4-drug fixed dose combs
---------------------------------------------
[crossposted from Stop-TB; WB]

Frequently asked questions about the 4-drug fixed-dose combination tablet
recommended by the World Health Organization for treating tuberculosis:

The Global TB Drug Facility (GDF) has now been operational for over a year
and a half. During this period, the GDF has witnessed an increase in the
demand for the WHO-recommeded 4-drug fixed dose combination tuberculosis
drug (4FDC) supplied through the GDF, as well as an increase in the number
of questions being asked about 4FDCs. The GDF therefore commissioned a
consultant to write a brief document, which outlines frequently asked
questions on the 4FDC and provides concise, helpful answers. This document
is intended to provide guidance to all stakeholders in TB control but
particularly national TB programs who are using the 4FDC or are planning to
do so. The document is based on contributions from numerous stakeholders in
the Global Partnership to Stop TB, including technical agencies and
national
TB programs.

The document is currently in pre-publication draft form and can be
downloaded from the GDF website at:
http://www.stoptb.org/GDF/drugsupply/resource.materials.html. The final
publication will be printed through WHO and made available later this year.
