E-DRUG: flow diagrammes for nurses

E-drug: flow diagrammes for nurses
----------------------------------------------------

Dear E-druggers,

South Africa is revising its Essential Drug Formulary for Primary
Health Care (1996 version).

The editorial team is planning to use 2 types of flow diagrammes in
the book:
- charts to help nurses to go from symptoms to a diagnosis
- charts to assist nurses in disease management once the diagnosis is
known (non-drug therapy and drugs)

We are aware of the 1977 Essex book from Tanzania, and the flowcharts
of various WHO programmes (diarrhoea, STD etc).

Anybody who has experience with fieldtesting such flowcharts, could
they please email us their good and bad experiences?

Please fax or snailmail us good and bad examples (see address below), quoting
the source and the address to ask permission for reproduction if we like them?

We promise to send a copy of the revised EDL to every person
assisting us.

kind regards

Wilbert Bannenberg
